This is one of the most praised electric guitars for heavy metal. I've read some online reviews of players that don't like the way these guitars feel. I don't know if it's because I've played so many but I havn't found many people in the outside world that don't find Schecters C1 guitars very comfortable to play.
This electric guitar combines features of the Les Paul and the Stratocaster design. The body is a double cutaway with deep access to the last frets and scale length of 25.5 inches, very Strat like. But the body is made of mahogany, some models offer maple tops and the mahogany neck is glued in.
The FR option has a floyd rose system which is very stable. The fixed bridge model is just as good of course and has a locking Tonepros bridge, I'm surprised all non tremolo guitars don't come with this. It offers the same mahogany body that most C1 guitars have. The black and white are all mahogany while the quilted cherry has a maple top at no extra cost.
The black one looks very close to the old Schecter Blackjack. The Blackjack had cream binding on the body while the Hellraiser gets all fancy with abalone. One difference is that the neck in some of the other C1 guitars is bound, not on the Hellraiser. The tuners are original Grovers.
But the main purpose of Schecter with the Hellraiser is to offer a heavy metal guitar and this is mainly achieved with the EMG pickups. In the back of the guitar you find the battery compartment for the active pickups. The new Hellraiser guitars have a cool new feature, you can now split the bridge pickup into a single coil. Until recently there was no way of splitting an active pickup.
