What is the best cheap electric guitar for Blues/Country?
I'm a grad student, so money is a big hurdle, but I'd like to get a decent quality electric guitar mainly for country and blues. I'm trying to figure out what style of guitar would be best (ie kinds of pickups, strat vs. tele, ect.) and use that to try and find a knockoff model that I could afford or might find used in that range. I've heard tele's are great for country, but its tougher finding a cheap one. Blues, I like all kinds, so no help there. I really appreciate the help!
your on the right track. the strat is most versatile but when you hear those nasty chicken pickin licks,that is a tele.
maybe this will help :if you do a lot of string bending steel guitar country licks,then the tele is best because the bridge.but on a strat,it moves around just a little where the tele is fixed.that will cause you to loose pitch on the stationary strings. but, if you are not a country lead but more rythum and blues, id say the strat for sure.
